Made an attempt at the Paddy Buckley round Solo / unsupported yesterday.
Had to battle all sorts of issues from 25 deg heat, lack of water from streams, 50Km/h gusts on the ridges, rain showers and mist so thick the visibility was down to less than a few meters over night.
Managed to problem solve my way around most issues but trying to get over the Nantlle ridge section in the dark and no visibility I realised I was moving to slow to finish with the food I had in pack (which was already over 5Kg at the start with food for 26hrs!) so made the logical choice to cut it short at 80Km after 6,600m of climbing.
I am not annoyed, disappointed or upset – it was a good run, I felt good and was moving really well even at the end after 22.5hrs but when Snowdonia throws weather at you that is something you can’t control!
Will be back and determined to crush it in the same style 💪
